Tour of historic Valley Forge. A box lunch will be provided.
The Ladies’ Hospitality Room opens at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, and closes at 4:00 p.m. Information, demonstrations, craft displays and light refreshments will be available. It is in the Delaware Valley Suite of the Philadelphia Centre Hotel.
Firemen’s Fair and Muster
As a special treat for delegates to the IAFC Conference, the Philadelphia Fire Department is sponsoring a Firemen’s Fair and Muster. There will be one of the largest gatherings ever of antique and handoperated apparatus, operating horse-drawn steamers, and antique and modern motorized apparatus.
The event will be held along the Delaware River between Spring Garden St. and Penns Landing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, In addition to an antique and modern apparatus pumping contest, there will be water rescue demonstrations, bands, floats, boat rides, games, prizes and a firematic flea market.
Bus transportation between area hotels, the Civic Center and the show area will be provided by the fire department.
