LaFrance Anniversary
American LaFrance will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a threeday civic event in Elmira, N.Y., on July 30 to Aug. 1. Owners of American LaFrance apparatus will be given tours of the company’s manufacturing plant, and a parade on Saturday will feature new and antique American LaFrance fire trucks.
Other activities will include a softball game between a local team and the King and His Court, a four-man team starring Eddie Feigner and Carnival Days, sponsored by the Firemen’s Association.
American LaFrance, a division of Figgie International Inc., is located near the Corning Glass Works and the National Soaring Museum. Visitors are welcome to attend the celebration.
