The Upper Pine River FPD, Bayfield, Colorado, uses this KME wildland interface pumper as an “all hazards” engine. FF/REMTB Paul Valdez says it is first out in the mountainous, remote Lake Vallecito area of Bayfield and is equipped as a structural engine, supported by a 2,000-gallon tender as there are no hydrants. It is also equipped for advanced life support calls.

• WARN 9,500-pound portable winch with front and rear receivers; and

The Thunder Bay (Ontario, Canada) Fire Rescue Department uses this SUTPHEN aerial tower as a second-alarm unit to structure fires and rescues, explains Deputy Chief David Paxton. The ladder provides egress and access for movement of equipment and people while the platform is raised. It has short jack capability and a parapet ladder at the platform.

The Bettendorf (IA) Fire Rescue uses this ALEXIS pumper as a primary response unit. Chief Gerry Voelliger says it answers calls for emergency medical services, motor vehicle accidents, fire alarm activations, structure fires, and technical rescues.
