Goshen (OH) Fire Apparatus Crashes Returning from Call

A Goshen (OH) fire apparatus crashed last night while returning from a motor vehicle accident.

According to the fire department’s Facebook page, Goshen Township Engine 18 was returning from the call when the truck’s right rear tire got off the road in a muddy ditch. As the driver attempted to correct, the front end struck a drainage culvert, which violently shot the truck across the road where it flipped and rolled, ending up on its side facing the opposite direction. The three firefighters on board all exited the vehicle through the windshield on their own and called for assistance.

The firefighters were fortunately wearing seat belts. They were transported to an area medical facility as a precaution, but suffered only minor injuries.

The truck will most likely be a total loss.
