Smoke detector maintenance campaign

Smoke detector maintenance campaign

Smoke detectors, often the first alert of a fire, have been credited with saving civilian lives and lowering property damage because of early detection and fire department notification. However, even with the increased number of smoke detector installations, due to legislation and civilian awareness, a new problem arises, that of detector maintenance.

There have been instances where smoke detectors were in place but because they didn’t operate properly, tragedy struck.

To address this concern, the above poster was designed by the Fire Safety Committee of the City of Wyoming Chamber of Commerce. Through repeated exposure via billboards, television spots, bumper stickers, grocery bags, envelope stuffers, etc., the committee intends to have this logo as readily recognizable as the golden arches adorning some fast food eateries.

The committee enocourages other departments to freely make use of this design and will be pleased to provide samples. Address requests to: Wyoming Chamber of Commerce, Fire Safety Committee, 2323 DeHoop, S.W., Wyoming, MI 49509.
