Morphix Technologies Participates in Demos Hosted by NSWC IHEODTD

Morphix Technologies®, is in the industry of science of detection devices for dangerous chemicals, was invited to participate in the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODD) Explosive Detection Equipment (EDE) Program’s week-long, user based scenario evaluation of colorimetric explosive detection kits. The event was held at U.S. Army Blossom Point Research Facility in late April. Morphix Technologies brought its TraceX® Explosives Detection Kit, an affordable, easy-to-use product that detects major explosive material threats and their precursors in a single test without exposing the user or kit to contamination or dangerous chemicals.

The event was sponsored by the Joint Improvised Explosive Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) to collect data on performance, usability, type of users and types of missions, suitable for colorimetric explosive detection kits. Attendees included representatives from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), FBI, Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Marshals and all four services of EOD.  Morphix Technologies, one of six companies invited to provide demonstrations of their products, received feedback directly from these end-users in a variety of realistic scenarios.

“This event proved to be very beneficial for us to attend and participate in. We were able to meet with our end users and get feedback directly from them in real time,” remarked Kim Pricenski, VP of Sales and Marketing for Morphix Technologies. “The TraceX® Explosives Detection Kit was seen very favorably by the attendees. One individual told us that he had come in fairly skeptical about our product, but was thoroughly impressed with it by the end, and he said it takes a lot to impress him.”

TraceX Explosives Trace Kit

The TraceX® Explosives Detection Kit was developed by Morphix Technologies® under contract from the U.S. Department of Defense and meets their demanding requirements. It is small enough to fit into a cargo pocket, lightweight and rugged. Each kit comes in its own disposable protective plastic case, so the handler will be ready to use it when needed. With a single swab, the TraceX® Explosives Detection Kit detects all the major families of explosive materials and their precursors.
