The Battlefield (MO) Fire Protection District protects a densely populated area with a mix of residential, commercial, and rural demographics. Deputy Chief Scott Moore says the department’s KME pumper is designed with a short wheelbase, low overall height, a strong engine, maximum storage, and low hosebed to serve its needs. The larger water tank provides extra attack time while establishing a feed.

The Geneseo (IL) Fire Protection District uses this ALEXIS rescue truck as a response vehicle to all calls except grass fires. Chief Mike Rusk says that it replaced a truck that had a body two feet shorter and has added features such as a light tower and a refrigerator.

The Huddleston (VA) Volunteer Fire Department designed this 4 GUYS pumper to carry rescue tools as well as standard firefighting equipment because of occasional limited staffing, says Chief Kevin Ogden. The custom cab provides more seating and shortens the wheelbase, and the top-mount pump panel affords better visibility (enhanced by crosslays under the walk-though, which elevates it) and safety for the operator. The low crosslays make repacking hose easier.
