Aiming for the Guinness World Record of Most Fire Trucks in a Parade

To celebrate National Tourism Week May 9-17, 2009, the Cass County Summerfest Parade Committee would like to announce a Guinness Book of World Record attempt. On August 15, 2009, as part of Cass County Summerfest in Casselton, North Dakota, a world record attempt for having the most fire trucks in a parade will take place. The current record for the largest parade of fire trucks is 159 and was achieved by Vogt Ltd., Fire Service Accessories and Vehicles in Oberdiessbach, Switzerland on 28 April 2006. We expect to shatter this record with a goal of 200 fire trucks on August 15^th . The fire truck parade will follow the main parade in which businesses from all over the Red River Valley participate. 3 emcee stands will be set up along the parade route to provide information and descriptions for each entry.

The Cass County Summerfest record attempt has been processed and accepted by the Guinness Book of World Records. We expect this to be one of the largest parades in the state of North Dakota in 2009. More information and entry forms are available on our Web site, www.casscountysummerfest.com. Casselton is located 15 minutes west of Fargo on I-94.
