Washington Firefighters Rescue Woman who Crashed into Port Washington Narrows

A female motorist sustained life-threatening injuries after the car she was driving crashed into the Port Washington Narrows waters, reports centralkitsapreporter.com (http://bit.ly/1kAh7GB)

According to Bremerton Police Department, the car went off the road near the 3500 block of Tracyton Beach Road NW, just north of NW Carter Farms Court. Bremerton police were dispatched to the crash at 11:41 a.m. Officers and Bremerton Fire Department personnel arrived at the crash at 11:43 a.m. and found the vehicle had landed on its roof and that the occupant compartment of the vehicle was completely submerged.

Firefighter/paramedic Joel Wulf and firefighter/EMT Craig Patti entered the water and were able to get the woman out of the car. Firefighters immediately began efforts to resuscitate the driver and were able to detect a heartbeat. The woman was transported to Harrison Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

BPD’s traffic unit is investigating the crash. The road was slippery in that area. BPD said that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
