On March 20, 2018, Indianapolis firefighters responded to a working fire in a self-storage facility.

Fourteen Indianapolis Fire Department units responded to the fire at Arlington Self Storage, and found heavy fire and black smoke going through the roof at a single-story building of lightweight steel construction.

Firefighters had to deal with the presence of several five-gallon flammable containers on scene, and also faced a long hose lay to obtain water supply from the nearest hydrants.

No firefighters were injured on scene, and damages were estimated at $250,000.
