Farmbro Approved as NFPA 1901 Seat Belt Monitoring System Installer for Canada

InterMotive is pleased to announce that Canadian fire truck builders can now purchase NFPA 1901 compliant Seat Belt Monitoring System (SBM) for F-Super Duty vehicles through Farmbro, Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario as a ship-thru option. The approval was granted by both Ford Motor Company and InterMotive.

The SBM will provide an audible and visual warning when a seat is occupied and the seat belt is not fastened.  Some of the key components of the system include a dash-mounted LED display, red OEM seat belts, and a vehicle data recorder by Fire Research Corporation (FRC).  There will also be upgrade options for FRC displays and VDR’s and a front passenger-side seat by H.O. Bostrom.

The approval, which is the same as the one granted to Manning Equipment of Louisville, KY in 2010, also included the ability to install red extended length seat belts and a high idle system as ship-thru options.
