Should security gate be removed?

Reference is made to “Operations in Heavily Protected Homes,” by Ray McCormack (July 1997). In the caption on page 65, it is stated that “U you can pry the gate to one side or upward.” I know dealing with these gates can be very time-consuming, but how can this be acceptable? In fire school, we are taught that when we remove a window, we should remove the entire window. Shouldn`t we use the same tactic for the gates? U. Firefighters need every advantage when trying to exit a fire in an emergency, and leaving these gates in place could seriously affect the operation.
