Firefighters responded last night to a three-alarm fire that occurred at a row house-style building in Albany, New York.
According to area fire photographer Jeff Belschwinder, the fire occurred about three blocks from south station where there was push to close Ladder 1 a year ago. Crews found a quarter of the building heavily involved in the rear, Belschwinder wrote on his Facebook page.
Firefighters immediately made entry in to the building to make sure everyone was out, but then the fire building was evacuated. Companies set up multiple portable deck guns on the city streets, and the rear side of the structure collapsed inwards towards the street later in the incident.
At least 50 firefighters were on the scene from the Albany, Watervliet, and Troy fire departments, according to a report on news10.com.
