80 Spotlight—Able 2 Products Co. has a four-page brochure on its Sho-Me, 12-volt portable light which is available as a flashing light and spotlight. Six models are available. The brochure also includes a description of accessories.

81 AC Power Systems—A 14-page, fullcolor brochure describes in text, photographs, diagrams, specifying working sheet and ordering data on Grinnell’s Selfcon integrated AC power systems that ensure backup emergency power for lighting, electrical machinery, security and alarm systems, computers and other critical equipment. The systems can be used to safeguard any area where even a brief power failure or power reduction could threaten safety, security or business continuity.

82 First-Aid Products—Kwik Kare Products introduces its complete line of first-aid products for the emergency medical service in an eight-page, two-color catalog. Among the products features are the company’s line of cold products—Kwik-Kold packs, Kwik-Kold spray and freezer packs. In addition, the catalog introduces the company’s new hot pack, Kwik-Heat.

83 Stretchers—An illustrated data sheet, 04-00-11, on first aid stretchers is available from Mine Safety Appliances Company. The stretchers are available in seven models: the standard stretcher outfit, the army stretcher, the Stokes splint stretcher, the Reeves stretcher, the Jenkins stretcher, the Lit-O-Splint, and the folding stretcher outfit. Each model is pictured and described.

84 Emergency Communications Center—A four-page brochure from Image Systems describes that company’s communications system. Each dispatcher has a microfilm reader at hand. Stored on the film within this reader is the complete set of emergency files—up to 149,000 pages of information. To retrieve any part of this information, the operator presses four or five buttons and is given a magnified image of the selected file on an illuminated screen. The whole process takes less than three seconds.

86 Ambulances—In commemoration of its 10th year of operation, the Horton Company has issued a four-color booklet on the Horton philosophy of emergency medical care. While the units are factory-produced they are not assembly line-manufactured. At a point in the manufacture, each unit is assigned to a crew of workers who do all the fitting of equipment and finishing.

87 Warning Lights—Public Safety Equipment, Inc., has issued a six-page brochure on its Code 3 warning lights for emergency vehicles. Included are descriptions of the Models 2200 and 2600 light bars, the Models 1100 and 500 beacons, the Selectalert directional warning system, and the Nightprobe directional illumination system.

88 Hose Reels—A six-page catalog, No. H-7843-F, of reels and spools to handle large-diameter fire hose has been released by Clifford B. Hann & Son. The full-color brochure lists specifications and prices for 49 different configurations of reels and spools to handle 1 1/2 to 5-inch I.D. collapsible hose in lengths to 2800 feet. Reels described in the new catalog can be powered by chain and sprocket drive with electric motors or hydraulic, or by direct drive with hydraulic motors. Typical hydraulic circuit descriptions are included. Several full-color photos illustrate typical installations of the reels currently in use.

89 Hydrant Fitting Lubricant—A catalog sheet describing the hydrant fitting lubricant manufactured by Superior Graphite is now available. It describes the composition of the lubricant and also details the various product applications. The sheet also provides information on other applications than hydrant fittings.

90 Hose Reels—A new brochure is available from Tokheim Corporation which features the entire line of Tokheim fire fighting hose reels. Full information is included on Tokheim’s new line of aluminum hose reels, which offer considerable savings in weight and require no reworking prior to installation.

91 Tools—Lowell Corporation has announced the availability of its 1978 specialty tools catalog No. SI178, presenting Lowell’s line of basic gear and socket ratchet wrenches and other hand tools. Application photos demonstrate the bolt-through feature of Lowell ratchet wrenches, uses for four basic socket sets, capabilities of two styles of strap wrenches, and features of the Lowell hydrant wrench. The 12-page catalog contains descriptive information on the company’s entire specialty tool line, along with specifications, dimensions, gear and handle selection tables, ASA standards for openings and keyways tables, and how-to-order information.

92 Power System—A four-page brochure from Dynamote Corporation describes the Dynamote Power Commander Ill which provides up to 200 amps of DC power to ensure continued operation of signals, lights, sirens and other emergency equipment without dead batteries. It provides a central test point for the vehicle electrical system and automatically isolates dual batteries with the use of manual switches. The unit can be used with 3000-watt inverters and is available as a factory-installed item for most quality ambulance manufacturers. Included in the brochure is a margin of safety check list.

93 Splint—A four-page brochure from the Wesley-Curtis Company describes the Miller body splint, a combination body splint and litter. It is foam-filled and is buoyant in water, allowing it to be used in water rescues.

94 Monitor-Defibrillator-Recorder —A black and white brochure describing the features of the new 450 SL monitor-defibrillator-recorder is now available from Medical Research Laboratories. The brochure includes a technical description of the 450 S1 and a synopsis of the design feat ures of the unit. The specifications table includes all equipment dimensions, as well as pertinent information on t he monitor scope, the chart recorder, the defibrillator, as well as a listing of optional equipment available.

Two workers were killed and another seriously injured in an explosion Tuesday at a Delta Air Lines maintenance facility near the Atlanta airport.
