DENNIS M. SARGENT has been appointed chief of the Salt Lake City, Utah Fire Department. A 22-year veteran of the fire service, Sargent began his career in Cleveland in 1967. In 1971 he moved to Sarasota, Florida, where he advanced to battalion chief. In 1986 he was appointed chief of the Myrtle Beach (SC) Fire Department, where he served until his current appointment.

MARTY RICHARD has been appointed chief of the Reno (NV) Fire Department. A 26-year veteran of the fire service, Richard was fire marshal prior to his appointment. He also served as president of the Fire Marshals of North America in 1986.
