COLUMBIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY’s (CSU’s) former Chief Operating Officer Ken Styron will transition into his new role of president, replacing previous President Robert Mayes, Jr. In his role of president, Styron will focus on execution of strategy, day-to-day operations, policies and, procedures. Styron’s inauguration will take place in conjunction with CSU’s 2018 commencement ceremony on October 19, 2018, an event that will also honor the university’s 25th anniversary. W.S. DARLEY & CO. announced Bruce Ireland as the newest member of its sales team. Ireland will serve as municipal sales and dealer development manager. THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE CHIEFS (IAFC) and AT&T renewed their relationship to further serve leaders of the fire and emergency service through education and collaboration. In March 2017, the First Responder Network Authority named AT&T as its public-private partner to build the first-ever nationwide public safety broadband network, called FirstNet. FirstNet gives first responders a reliable and always-on way to connect to the specialized communications tools they need to help achieve their life-saving missions. FirstNet will help make first responders’ communications simpler, faster, and more collaborative and secure, enhancing situational awareness to help first responders keep themselves and their communities safe.

STREAMLIGHT®, INC. donated $23,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), including $13,000 in proceeds from sales of the company’s specially marked NFFF Red Nano Light®, Red Vantage® helmet light, and Red Siege® AA lantern. Streamlight earmarks $1.00, $3.00, and $2.00, respectively, from the sale of each light for the NFFF. The company also contributed $10,000 for renewal of its “Bronze Helmet” NFFF sponsorship. Streamlight’s sponsorship support also helps fund scholarships awarded to spouses and children of fallen firefighters as well as counseling programs for agencies that have lost colleagues in the line of duty. www.streamlight.com.
