Delaware Governor Names James E. Turner III As New DEMA Director

Dover, DE – Governor Ruth Ann Minner and Secretary of Public Safety James Ford Jr. Tuesday announced the selection of James E. Turner III as the next director of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency. Turner is currently executive secretary of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association. Turner will begin work June 1.

Turner, 50, has served as executive secretary of the DVFA since March 2000. Prior to that, he spent 24 years as an emergency service training administrator at the Delaware State Fire School. From 1969 to 1976, he was a communications specialist with the Delaware State Police. He has been a member of the Clayton Fire Company since 1966, serving for a time as deputy chief.
