Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology will offer its CERTIFICATE IN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT through distance learning beginning in the fall of 1993. The certificate is designed for emergency professionals, governmental and industrial safety planners, and aspiring emergency professionals to learn when and where they want. Students will be able to learn through a variety of options, including audiocassettes and videotapes, audio and computer conferencing, picture phones, electronic blackboards, and on-line student services. ■ The International Society of Fire Service Instructors announces the release of its new, NFPA-compliant HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM, which meets or exceeds OSHA requirements for emergency response to hazardous materials as identified in 29 CFR 1910.120. ■ Emergency Film Group has released FIRST RESPONDER AWARENESS, a 20-minute video, plus an accompanying 56-page Leader’s Guide. The videocassette offers a four-hour program designed to teach the duties of those first on the scene of a hazardousmaterials incident. The programs can help meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response requirements.
