Tone-Link Systems

Reach Electronics, Inc. has developed a Tone-Link system that can activate a radio base station tone encoder by telephone.

When fire calls are received at their homes or businesses by designated members of volunteer fire departments, the member can then dial an unlisted number to be connected to the Tone-Link system.

After hearing a beep that indicates the connection with the encoder has been made, the alarm receiver then presses a button to transmit the paging tone. After that, the alarm receiver transmits a voice dispatch message over the phone that is broadcast over the base radio station.

Both group and selective calling options are available.
