Correction and addendum
“Harbor Firefighting,” October 1984, page 68. We mistakenly reported Western Engineering as supplying Thunder Bay, Ontario Fire Department with two portable pumps Western Engineering placed two of it 112-foot, 260-ton tug boats at the department’s disposal.
A major lesson learned with the use of these trailer-mounted pumps was that the original pump, TP-1, had no lifting rings. Therefore, a strongback lifting arrangement had to be designed and built. The nev pump, TP-2, was built to the departments specifications which included a lifting ring arrangment.
