responds to a growing number of apartment buildings and industrial plants. Chief Roger Williams says this EMERGENCY ONE pumper is designed to address this expansion with increased pumping capacity, more storage space, a larger water tank, and Class A foam.
Features/Equipment:
•Cyclone II chassis, 200-inch wheelbase, and 20-inch raised roof cab with nine seats;
•DETROIT Series 60 430-hp diesel engine with ALLISON HD 4060P automatic transmission;
•HALE QSMG single-stage, 1,500-gpm pump with five-inch rear intake, two 21/2-inch rear discharges, two 13/4-inch crosslays, 21/2-inch front discharge reduced to 11/2-inch, four-inch right-side discharge, and prepiped ELKHART Stinger 1,000 gpm monitor;
•HYPRO Foam Pro 2001 Class A foam system;
•UPF 1,000-gallon water and 30-gallon foam tanks;
•ROBINSON rollup compartment doors;
•light/power with OMNI GILLETTE five-kw diesel generator, three FRC floodlights (two right side, one left), and two GLEASON electric cord reels;
•spare SCBA cylinder storage in rear wheel wells, and
•EMERGENCY ONE hydraulic ladder rack.

is one of two designed as advanced life support (ALS) engines by the Rochester Hills (MI) Fire Department, according to Chief H.W. Thornton. These pumpers will each support an ambulance in the department’s five-station master plan.

•light and power with A.M.P.S. 12-kw hydraulic generator, six HAVIS SHIELDS floodlights (two each behind and under platform and over rear axles), and four HAVIS SHIELDS Collins FX-12 spot/floodlights (two each on platform and bed section ladder); and
•215 feet of ground ladders, INTEC backup camera, and ISI thermal imaging camera.
