Drill of the Week: Smoke Ejectors and Fans

By Forest Reeder

Smoke ejectors and positive pressure fans are used in this training evolution to simulate the removal of smoke and heat from a simulated incident scene.

Using the smoke ejectors or fans assigned to your companies, set up a variety of smoke removal simulations including positive pressure, smoke ejection, and other air movement operations. Consult with department SOG on use of fans and ejectors during fire operations and train according to the SOG.
