Fire department produces TV show

Citizens of Fullerton, California, can see from the comfort of their homes what it`s like to fight fires and rescue people. “The Fire Side of Fullerton,” a quarterly half-hour news magazine show produced by the Fullerton Fire Department, began broadcasts over the city`s local government channel in July. The show will be aired on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. The program`s host is Chief Steve Magliocco.

The first segment shows the department on actual fire and medical aid calls and as the host of community groups at fire safety and prevention educational programs. Also included is a tour of the headquarters and a viewer quiz on firefighting equipment.

Future segments will cover such topics as swimming pool safety, holiday safety, and the “Open Airways” program, which provides asthma education for elementary school children, according to Captain Tom Schultz, the show`s producer.
