Hale Fire Pump Company received the “Cost Cutter” award from the Oshkosh Truck Corporation for its contribution to the development of the U.S. Air Force P-19 Crash/Fire/Rescue (CFR) Vehicle. The company, awarded for design excellence and production efficiency of the vehicle’s relief valve system which they supplied, is the first vendor to ever receive the award, normally reserved for Oshkosh employees. The Hale Fire Pump Company, founded in 1914, is also celebrating its 70th year in business.
Leslie J. Jezuit, president of the Signal Division of the Federal Signal Corporation, announces the promotion of Thomas A. Schonauer to vice president of sales. He will be responsible for domestic sales and marketing of warning systems for police and fire vehicles and industrial plants.
Junkin Safety Appliance Company received a Value Engineering Achievement Certificate from the Department of Defense for their accomplishment on a contract for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Under contract for folding litters, the company changed the packaging material on the litter from a wooden crate to a fiberboard box resulting in a unit savings of $6.34.
R. J. Jackson, national sales manager of Partner Industrial Products, received a Special Gold Label Award on behalf of the company from Verble & Sons, Inc. for the purchase of 100,000 cut-off saw wheels. The wheels are used in conjunction with Partner Cut-Off Saws for use in construction, remodeling and emergency rescue work.
