A Letter From The Publisher

DEPARTMENTS

FIRE ENGINEERING is pleased to announce that as we enter our 110th year, we do so under the new ownership of the PennWell Publishing Company in Tulsa, OK.

PennWell has a long publishing heritage going back to the early 1900’s and is best known for their flagship publication, OIL & GAS JOURNAL. Over the years, PennWell has broadened their base of highly successful business publications through hand-picked acquisitions in the petrochemical, computer, dental, fiberoptic, computer graphics, and telecommunications markets.

FIRE ENGINEERING was a logical choice for PennWell’s continuing growth because of the exciting field we serve, and because our commitment to editorial excellence and integrity reflect their publishing philosophy.

You—our readers, advertisers, and authors—will benefit greatly from PennWell’s highly professional and personal approach to publishing. PennWell has their own modern printing plant and you will soon see the results in better graphics and more extensive use of color.

In the near future, we will be relocating to larger offices here in New York to accommodate our growing staff, all devoted to better serving the needs of the fire service. An announcement will be made shortly.

We, at FIRE ENGINEERING, are looking forward to a rewarding and prosperous relationship, and will continue to strive to produce the finest, most informative publication serving the firefighting field.
