CUMMINS POWER GENERATION has launched a new externally focused Web site for fire engineers and chiefs. The new site, which represents a complete overhaul of an earlier site, provides online tools, extensive technical documentation, news feeds, blog posts, and discussion forums, all designed to deliver comprehensive, useful information. The site is open to the public, but use of the online tools and the technical library requires registration. The site also includes sample specifications for generator and engine data for fire trucks. The forum has contributions from Cummins employees, distributors, and dealers with hands-on experience, and it has an engineering team that provides answers to technical questions. Visit the site at www.fire.cumminspowersource.com.

Mid-Atlantic region firefighters honored the 343 Fire Department of New York firefighters who died on September 11 at the 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb by climbing 110 flights in the Washington, D.C., Hilton on April 6. The event was co-sponsored by the CONGRESSIONAL FIRE SERVICES INSTITUTE (CFSI) and the NATIONAL FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION, which was part of CFSI’s 23rd Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner and Seminars program. The event was one in a series of commemorative climbs for fire service personnel, who will honor the firefighters who died on September 11. The climbs are inspired by similar events that have occurred in Denver since 2005. www.cfsi.org. www.firehero.org.
