NFPA funds six Harvard University fellowships
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is funding housing and tuition for the six senior fire service executives selected to attend the annual Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program at Harvard University.
Fellowship recipients are Commissioner David H. Fischler, Suffolk County Department of Fire, Rescue and EMS, Yaphank, NY; Deputy Chief Mark S. Ghilarducci, California Governor`s Office of Emergency Services, Sacramento, CA; Assistant Chief Monica Higgins, San Diego (CA) Fire & Life Safety; Chief Manuel Navarro, Colorado Springs (CO) Fire Department; Chief Mario H. Trevino, Las Vegas (NV) Fire Department; and Battalion Chief J. Curtis Varone, Providence (RI) Fire Department. The three-week program will take place this summer.
The International Association of Fire Chiefs and the Federal Emergency Management Agency also support the project, administered by the U.S. Fire Administration`s National Fire Academy.
