>> The Caterpillar International Global Fire Rescue, Peoria, Illinois, designed this ALEXIS response unit for maximum storage capability, explains District Manager Jeff Schaeffer. The team carries equipment for basic life support, fire suppression, hazmat, technical rescue, and fire support. The vehicle is compact and able to maneuver among large manufacturing buildings.

Features/Equipment:

• INTERNATIONAL TerraStar chassis with 158-inch wheelbase and two-seat cab;
• INTERNATIONAL MaxxForce 7 300-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 1000 EVS automatic transmission;
• 12-foot body with oil absorbent hopper in left side compartment and rear-mounted ZICO top access ladder;
