DHS to Open National Urban Security Technology Laboratory in New York

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) will unveil the new location of its National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) in a ribbon-cutting ceremony in New York City, Wednesday, February 27, 2013. 

NUSTL tests, evaluates, and analyzes homeland security capabilities and technologies, working with program managers, product engineers, and manufacturers to identify and address risks before the final production.  The updated lab is equipped with new training space for first responders, a hardware test lab, and state-of-the-art radiation detection equipment.
