The Jersey City (NJ) Fire Department‘s EMERGENCY ONE aerial ladder truck replaces a unit that had a shorter ladder. Battalion Chief William C. Peters, the apparatus supervisor, says the department’s basic requirements include a short wheelbase, a tight turning radius, a narrow outrigger spread for narrow city streets, and a low overall height and minimum length to fit into an old fire station.
