Drill of the Week: SCBA Training Schedule

By Forest Reeder

SCBA training may be one of the most important subjects in your training. Enhancing your training program with new subject area coverage and incorporating scenario-based training will go a long way in improving your ability to use your SCBA equipment.

This sample training schedule offers over 20 topics and skills that can be inserted in your training plan and help in improving your members ability to operate in SCBA. Make sure you reference your local SOPs and manufacturer instructions when developing your lesson plans and skill sessions for this training. SCBA is one of the most important parts of our PPE, and agressive and thorough training must take place in order to make sure you master these essential skills.
