Indy Pumper Pull Challenge Happening Again During FDIC 2012

The Indy Pumper Pull 2012 is brought to you by the Indianapolis Professional Firefighters Local 416. This year’s contest is taking place on Friday, April 20.

The contest challenges five-person teams to use their strength and speed to pull a fire engine a designated distance for time during two separate heats. The team with the fastest total time will be awarded $500; the second place team will receive $250; and the third place team will receive $100.

The Pumper Pull is open to all firefighters. Indy Pumper Pull 2012 spectators are invited to watch the competition free of charge.

The Indy Pumper Pull 2012 will take place during the Indianapolis Professional Firefighters Local 416’s GEORGIA ST BLOCK PARTY, a social gathering held in conjunction with the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC), which is attended by more than 20,000 firefighters from around the world. Indy Pumper Pull competitors and spectators are invited to attend the BLOCK PARTY following the competition. Proceeds from the Indy Pumper Pull 2012 will benefit the Firefighters’ Survive Alive Program and the Firefighters’ Museum.
