P.L. Custom Body and Equipment Co., Inc. Adds Distributor

P.L. Custom Body and Equipment Co., Inc. (PLCB) has added Dependable Emergency Vehicles to its growing family of distributors. Dependable will be providing sales and service for the Rescue 1 division of PLCB to emergency services providers in Canada. This marks the entry by Rescue 1 into the Canadian marketplace.

Chad Newsome, national sales manager for PLCB, is very pleased to have Dependable as part of the PLCB family. “Recent developments in our industry have presented new opportunities for Rescue 1 to expand our family of distributors. With a rich heritage extending back to 1946, our family-run business model is truly a strong foundation from which to build. The addition of Dependable Emergency Vehicles is a continuation of that legacy and one which we believe will bring great benefit to both companies. On behalf of all of us here in Manasquan, we wish to express our thanks to Dependable for joining our team!”

Pino Natale, director of Dependable Emergency Vehicles, is “excited to begin this partnership with P.L. Custom Body and Equipment Co., Inc. The Dependable sales force is eagerly anticipating the chance to show the quality products that Rescue 1 builds to our loyal customers. The addition of Rescue 1 to our product portfolio will complement the quality products that we currently offer, giving our customers a wide variety of choice in meeting their emergency vehicle needs.”

Dependable Emergency Vehicles is the emergency vehicle division of Dependable Truck and Tank, Ltd., of Brampton, Ontario. Founded in 1975 and owned by the Natale family, Pino points out that, “Our business is based on many years of experience and unsurpassed quality that has led to one of the largest independent tank and fire emergency vehicle manufacturing facilities in Canada.”

P.L. Custom Body and Equipment Co., Inc. has been in business since 1946 and owned by the Smock family since 1970. The company employs 200 people at its Manasquan, New Jersey, plant and sells through a network of 17 independent dealers covering 29 states, the District of Columbia, and now will be selling its Rescue 1 product in Canada. Now in its 70th year, it is proud—PL Proud—to maintain a strong reputation as a customer-focused designer and manufacturer of high-quality emergency vehicles. PLCB continues to grow at a consistent pace, happy to be able to add partners who share its long-term vision for high-quality products, outstanding customer service, and smart and sustainable growth. PLCB is small by design, family-owned and rich in heritage and tradition.
