The HC-500, the result of extensive research and an advanced computer design, has a service pressure of 4,500 psi and weighs 144 pounds. The steel cylinder’s “leak before break” technology adds a higher degree of safety.

Face mask protection bag

A face mask that’s exposed to dirt may cause respiration problems and reduce the service life of the mask.

First Due Products introduces a SCBA face mask protection bag to combat that problem. A primary closure uses elastic to hold the face mask in the bag; a secondary flap with Velcro fasteners provides for easy accessibility and a cover from the elements.

Shutter door

Roll-O-Matic now manufactures the Robinson rolling aluminum shutter door for fire apparatus, rescue units, and other emergency vehicles.

The Robinson shutter increases accessibility to compartments while decreasing the opportunity for equipment damage and personnel injuries. It features a lift-bar lock for easy opening and a coextruded interseal between the aluminum slats that eliminates road noise and protects against moisture.

Disaster shelter

Trelleborg Inc. introduces its TrellShelter, an inflatable tent that can be quickly assembled at accident, fire, flood, and other disaster sites.

The tent measures 410 square feet, and it’s furnished as a one-piece unit, with the floor sewn and welded to the walls for strong, waterproof joints. Large openings with door flaps are provided at the front and rear, and four plastic windows are included to maximize available light. An integral air intake ensures proper ventilation, heating, and cooling.

Streamlight Inc. has combined two of its miniature flashlights, Streamlight Jr. and Key-Mate, into one package.

Turbo pump set

Ladder Technologies Ltd. introduces a kit that enables departments to effectively perform the hardness service test recommended by NFPA 1932 (1984 edition).

The kit includes a hardness tester with a modified leg that allows testing of all parts of the ladder. Also included are 40 heat sensor labels, instructions for performing the test and interpreting the results, two spare indenters, and two test disks for calibration.

HD Electric Co. announces the availability of a battery-powered safety light designed for use on aerial lift buckets.

The ABL-100 is powered by a 7.5 volt replaceable batten’. The lamp rests in a swivel mount; an optional shatter guard that protects the bulb is also available. The entire unit is water-resistant, and its housing features a bracket for easy mounting of the unit anywhere on the bucket rim.
