HAIX Update: New Fire Flash® Xtreme, repair program

HAIX® North America, a leading manufacturer of high quality firefighting, rescue, and law enforcement footwear, announces the release of the new Fire Flash® Xtreme to its structural fire footwear line up.

According to the company President, Ewald Haimerl, himself a qualified shoemaker and active firefighter, the Fire Flash® Xtreme is developed in close cooperation with active firefighters to ensure “that we consider all possible, and sometimes even impossible, scenarios when designing the models.” The design and technologies of the Fire Flash® Xtreme involve intensive tests and discussions with professional firefighters in selected cities in the United States, Germany, Great Britain and other countries.

The Fire Flash® Xtreme, with its 10-inch high shaft, is designed for extremely tough jobs under the most difficult conditions imaginable. The boot offers comfort, flexibility, protection, and safety. The CROSSTECH® membrane by WL Gore is not only watertight and breathable, but is also resistant to bacteria. The integrated Kevlar® inlay provides added protection when working with chainsaws. The foot is also protected by a padded, extra-wide and comfortable steel toe cap and non-penetrable sole. The newly developed profiled rubber toe cap ensures the tip of the boot is abrasion-resistant while protecting the forefoot from mechanical hazards such as impacts and blows.

The Fire Flash® Xtreme features an all new lacing system that was a revolutionary breakthrough in Europe at Interschutz 2005. All lacing elements of the Fire Flash® Xtreme are covered by high quality leather and includes a lacing system that makes it possible to adjust the boot to the individual shape of the foot and calf. The heavy duty T-Grip zip ensures an easy and quick entry. The boots also feature the patented HAIX® MSL system which provides superior shock absorption, insulates against cold and heat, and ensures the inner lining is firmly attached to the boot components and cannot pull out or crumple up.

The Fire Flash® Xtreme is tested and certified to:

NFPA 1971/2007 edition
NFPA 1977/2005 edition
NFPA 1951/2001 edition
