The Martinez/Columbia (GA) Fire Rescue’s HME pumper protects 17 miles of Interstate 20 near the industrial area to which it is assigned, and hence features a large water tank, according to Chief Doug Cooper. It also answers first responder calls.

The Buffalo Grove (IL) Fire Department uses this MARION BODY rescue truck for technical rescue, haz mat, and dive rescue response, and as an air cascade unit and a command center, according to Deputy Chief Peter Ciecko. This demo model replaced an old, overloaded step van.

The Long Hill Fire District in Trumbull, Connecticut, uses its KME pumper as a squad to carry extrication tools because of the district’s proximity to three highways, explains Assistant Chief Doug Bogan. The unit runs with the department’s satellite unit and also serves as its special hazards truck.

The Beaumont Fire Department in Alberta, Canada, designed this FORT GARRY INDUSTRIES rescue pumper with an enclosed pump panel for crew comfort in all weather conditions, particularly in the extreme temperatures in summer and winter, explains Chief Les Mroz.

The Stevens County Fire District 6 in Kettle Falls, Washington, uses its ROSENBAUER tanker to augment the water supply it brings to fires. Chief Rob McIntosh says the district has very few hydrants and a varied terrain that ranges from flat ground with farms, ranches, and suburban housing to steep, mountainous terrain with scattered homes. The short wheelbase aids maneuverability.

The Newton (MS) Fire Department designed this FERRARA pumper with a smaller water tank to allow for deeper rescue-style compartments according to Chief Jerry “Buster” Bounds. The city is hydranted and the unit doubles as a rescue pumper, eliminating the need for an initial two-vehicle response for rescue calls.
