NVFC Battery Donation Program Launches

By now, you’ve certainly heard–and possibly even seen–the buzz around the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) partnership with Duracell and the launch of the Power Those Who Protect Us battery donation program. As you know, the goal of this program is to secure a 10 million battery donation for the 23,000 departments across the U.S. The NVFC said it would like to thank supporters for their enthusiasm over the past few weeks.

The NVFC appeared in several national media interviews with our celebrity spokesperson and NFL star, Kurt Warner. There was also a full day of local media interviews with NVFC Chairman, Chief Philip C. Stittleburg, who spread the word about the challenges you may face as a department. Visit Facebook.com/Duracell for highlights. Also, here are a few links to see some of the hard work in action:

The NVFC extends a special thank you to the Wickenburg Fire Department for hosting Kurt Warner for a full-day of fire training near his hometown in Arizona. The NVFC would also like to thank to all of the departments that have submitted stories at Duracell.com/protect and urges departmetns to please keep them coming.

If you or your department has any great or heroic stories stemming from the winter storms we’ve had across the country this past week? If so, please send your story via email to DuracellFire@gmail.com. The NVFC could feature you on our Facebook page or possibly contact you for local media requests.
