The Kenton County (KY) Fire Chiefs Association shares this SUMMIT FIRE APPARATUS air/light truck with 15 other tri-state departments in Ohio and Indiana. Chief Paul LaFontaine of the Elsemere (KY) Fire District says it is staffed by five member departments for three-month periods and provides on-scene air and light support for all departments and the county technical rescue team.

The Detroit (ME) Fire Rescue’s AMERICAN LAFRANCE pumper tanker is first out for most calls in the surrounding rural area, explains Firefighter Stephen McCarron. The large water tank and Class A foam allows a strong attack and quick knockdown. The “dumps” can empty in one minute.

The Hanlontown (IA) Fire Department replaced two pumpers and an ambulance with this MARION pumper, says Chief Peter Brattrud. The unit is first-out to all fire and medical calls. It has a large water tank and foam to protect Interstate 35, to which they respond to many calls.
