Fire Crews Control Edgewater Park (NJ) Condo Fire

Fire photographer Dave Hernandez shared some photos from a fire that ravaged a condominium complex in Edgewater Park, New Jersey.

On July 3, 2018, Taskforce 12 was alerted to an odor of smoke inside an apartment at Arbor Green Condominiums. Burlington County Central Communications received multiple callers confirming a working structure fire after a lightning strike.

Chief 1200 (Meredith) arrived reported smoke and fire conditions self venting from the roof of an L shaped two story apartment building and requested the third alarm. Due to excessive heat and resources in the area being depleted from numerous calls caused by the storm, the fire was brought up to the fourth alarm before being placed under control after burning for approximately three hours. One firefighter was transported for a minor injury, and Edgewater Park Police Chief Gene J. DiFilippo told reporters that several firefighters were treated for heat-related issues.
