APPARATUS IPINOVATIONS/DELIVERIES
The Festus Fire Department of Festus, MO, has purchased a Pierce Arrow pumper from Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. Equipped with a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump and a 1,000-gallon booster tank (warranty 10 years), the unit also features two 2 1/2-inch LH discharges, two 2 1/2–inch RH discharges, two 2 1/2-inch rear discharges, a deluge gun rear of reels ahead of the hosebed, a hose reel located over the pump, two 2 1/2-inch crosslays, transverse compartment in the front, rear step compartment, Dual square type lights, Code 3 XL-9000 55-inch light bar, spotlights, a Q2B siren, a Code 3 #3400 siren w/mike, and 3 ladders (10-foot, 35-foot 3-section, 14-foot roof).
The new unit is painted red and is mounted on a Pierce Arrow chassis with a crew cab, and a wheelbase of 200 inches and cab to axle of 139 inches. It is powered by a Detroit 6V92TA engine with an Allison HT-740 transmission.

FMC Corporation’s Fire Apparatus Division has introduced a new version of its Omega Pumper, mounted on a Spartan Gladiator CFG 2000 G chassis with revolutionary Super Command Cab.
The Super Command Cab incorporates an electronic control panel for all pump functions at the rear wall, along with a Hydro Calc Pressure calculator mounted adjacent to the control panel. It provides complete control of all pumper functions, along with effective monitoring of the fire scene.
Standard Omega features incorporated into the unit include aluminum body for corrosion resistance and extended life, Omega electronic top mount control panel, Hale 1,250-gpm QSMF single-stage pump and 750-gallon polyethylene water tank. Firefighting features include a 3-inch top deluge pipe with top control, 1 1/2-inch crosslay, and 1-inch jumpline compartment mounted over the pumphouse. Powering the vehicle is a Cummins L-10 engine, delivering 320 hp through an Allison HT 741 electronic transmission with fourth-gear lockup.
