The Town of Canton Volunteer Fire Department in Collinsville, Connecticut, replaced an engine and a truck with a MARION BODY quint. Chief Richard F. Hutchings explains the department always responded with an engine and a truck, and the quint allows them to enter driveways first, providing them with an aerial and an initial attack line. The Class A foam permits quick fire knockdown. The town of 8,500 occupies 27 square miles. U.S. Route 44 divides the town, with most of the residents living to the south; large homes and farms are to the north.
