Mississippi Firefighter Dies of Cardiac Emergency

A 44-year-old Mississippi firefighter died earlier this month of a cardiac-related issue.

The U.S. Fire Administration reported that Philadelphia (MS) Fire Department Firefighter Dwight Greer suffered a cardiac-related medical emergency at the station while participating in fire department mandated physical training.The incident occurred on May 6 about an hour after returning to quarters from a carbon monoxide response call.

Greer was treated by fellow responders and transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

Greer had 20 years of service.
