The Hale Fire Pump Company has opened four authorized service centers in the northeast to better serve customers of its fire and irrigation pump lines, according to Vice-President/Marketing Robert L. Blackburn.
These service centers are: the Fire Equipment Sales Company in Factoryville, PA; Har-Rob Fire Apparatus in Syracuse, NY; Nuttal Equipment Company in Sherman, NY; and Greenwood Fire Apparatus in North Attleboro, MA.
Blackburn said the company plans to establish authorized parts service centers throughout the country. In the near future, Hale is considering establishing additional centers in Georgia, Florida, Texas, California, and Michigan.
Kersey Manufacturing Co., Bluefield, VA, has announced that it will be managing all six American LaFrance maintenance and service centers from its Bluefield headquarters. The headquarters will also be utilized as an additional service and maintenance center.
This announcement follows a decision by Figgie International, the parent company, to phase out production at American LaFrance’s Elmira, NY, facility due to prolonged periods of unprofitability. For 153 years, American LaFrance manufactured custom fire engines and, most recently, commercial truck chassis and special purpose vehicles.
American LaFrance’s six regional service centers will remain open permanently to handle major repair work and vehicle retrofit business. The service center headquarters will be in Bluefield. American LaFrance service centers are located in Dunmore, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Rialto, CA; Wood Dale, II; Atlanta, GA; and Fort Worth, TX.
Warren Henning, formerly manager of the American LaFrance manufacturing plant in Elmira, has been appointed vice president in charge of these service centers.
Peter Bol has been appointed general manager of Snap-tite Hose Inc., a Union City, PA-based manufacturer of light-weight, large-diameter hose. Bol will have responsibility for the total performance of Snaptite Hose, including manufacturing, engineering, marketing, and business development.
Prior to joining Snap-tite Hose, Mr. Bol was with American Sterilizer Co. involved in product and business development, strategic planning, and marketing management.
