BOCA offers on-line training

The Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA) “Virtual Campus” on-line curriculum currently offers nine introductory courses. Successful completion of a course earns continuing education units. Within the next 18 months, BOCA plans to complete an extensive curriculum designed for the worldwide web and to establish a partnership with an accredited university, providing the opportunity to earn a bachelor`s degree on-line. BOCA`s Virtual Campus was spearheaded by former BOCA President Henry Green, executive director of the Bureau of Construction Codes for the state of Michigan. His successor, Michael Perrone, director of Building and Housing and fire marshal for the borough of West Chester, Pennsylvania, has coordinated the implementation of the service.

For a free, interactive demonstration of the BOCA virtual campus, point your internet browser to www.uol.com/boca. For a limited time, BOCA is offering courses on-line for a $10 introductory registration fee. For additional information, call BOCA at (708) 799-2300, ext. 716, or e-mail virtcamp@bocai.org. n
