The Turn of River Fire Department in Stamford, Connecticut, designed this HME heavy rescue truck with a nonwalk-in body to provide added inventory space. Chief Frank Jacobellis says that in addition to fires, the department responds to ice, water, and trench rescues; building collapses; and to motor vehicle accidents on the Merritt Parkway.

The Prince Albert Fire & Emergency Services in Saskatchewan, Canada, use this FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS pumper as the lead engine for structure fires and service calls, explains Battalion Chief R.J. Bob Northey. The enclosed cab incorporates the top-mount pump panel and is needed because of temperature extremes. The open area allows for better communications.

The Fox Lake (IL) Fire Department replaced an older pumper with this ALEXIS rescue-style pumper. Deputy Chief Tom Predis says the enclosed top-mount pump panel was specified for safety reasons. The pumper is first-out in its district.
