Seif-Study for Instructors

Seif-Study for Instructors

A correspondence course, believed to be the first of its kind, which can lead to instructor certification has been developed at the University of Illinois. Students will prepare written assignments and take a final examination. In many cases, the examination can be taken under supervision in the student’s home community.

Gerald Monigold, director, U. Of I. Fire Service Institute, said fire fighters seeking Illinois certification as instructors also must do some practice teaching on the U. Of I. campus.

The course can be taken at any time of the year and students can work at their own pace as long as they complete the course in a year.

The registration fee for the course is $44. Additional information can be obtained from Guided Individual Study, 104 Illini Hall, 725 S. Wright Street, Champaign, Ill. 61820.
