FMC Acquires Van Pelt: FMC Corporation and P.E. Van Pelt: Inc., Oakdale, Calif., have reached an agreement whereby FMC will acquire 100 percent of the stock of P. E. Van Pelt, Inc. Van Pelt will operate as an independent operation of FMC under present Van Pelt management. Van Pelt will continue its long service in manufacturing fire apparatus. FMC Corporation, headquartered in Chicago, produces machinery and chemicals for industry and agriculture. It has manufactured fire apparatus for over 40 years and FMC Fire Apparatus Operation in Tipton, Ind., is a worldwide supplier of fire apparatus.

Grumman Emergency Products announces the appointment of Bruce Hearn as director of field sales, and Leonard Cuccaro will continue as general sales manager. Cuccaro will also be responsible for customer service, bids and contracts.

Lawrence Ellis has been appointed as sales manager for Prestige Vehicles, Inc., manufacturers of emergency medical vehicles. Ellis founded the Florida Ambulance Association in 1967.

Scott Aviation has announced the promotions of Dennis W. Browner and F. Earle Ganzenmuller to the position of product managers. Browner will be product manager for the company’s line of air supplied respiratory products, and Ganzenmuller will be responsible for the company’s line of air purifying respiratory products. In their new assignments, both men will be responsible for product and market planning, market research, new product development, advertising and technical support.

Johnson Controls, Inc. has announced the appointment of E. King Schultz as general manager of its international division. Schultz replaces A. C. Buffalano, division vice-president and general manager, who is retiring after 42 years with the company. Schultz will be responsible for directing the activities of Johnson’s major sales and service centers.

Ed Russell Industries has announced the appointment of Carl Becker as director of marketing for Prestige Vehicles, Inc.

Joseph R, Williams has been promoted to the position of marketing manager for the fire and emergency medical services division, of the Robert J. Brady Co. As marketing manager, he will plan and supervise all research, marketing and promotional activities on all texts and media within the Fire/EMS areas. James Yvorra has been appointed writer/producer for the company, and will be responsible for editorial and audio visual production duties involving the Brady Co. fire service publications and audio visual programs.

John O’Brien has been named president of the Lehigh Safety Shoe Co., a subsidiary of Endicott Johnson. In 1970 he was appointed to establish the new Ranger Rubber Division of Endicott Johnson, in 1972 was named vice president of that division, and in 1976 was appointed executive vice president of Ranger Rubber Division and Lehigh Safety Shoe Co.

William D. McCullough, formerly manager-sales promotion for the Mack Trucks, Inc. parts division, has been appointed director-corporate affairs. In his new position, McCullough is responsible for all public relations and community relations activities as well as novelty merchandising programs, trademark usage, and other corporate image programs.

Lionel H. Schwartz has been appointed as executive vice-president and chief operating officer for Falcon Safety Products, Inc.

Globe Manufacturing Company, producers of fire fighters protective clothing, has begun building a new plant. The modern facility will occupy 51,000 square feet and is scheduled for completion in June of 1979.
