Rosenbauer signs contracts with Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore County

Following an extensive evaluation and review process, the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has awarded a $4.6 million contract to Rosenbauer for nine high-content rescue-pumpers to be built at the company’s General Division in Wyoming, Minnesota.

Using a Rosenbauer custom chassis, the heavy-duty all-extruded aluminum bodies will each have a compartment storage capacity of 182 cubic-feet and will be furnished with roll-up doors.

Each truck will be equipped with a 1,500 GPM single-stage pump in a top-mount configuration, a 700-gallon water tank, a Class A/B foam system with a 30-gallon foam cell, dual-arm ladder rack, a water-cooled diesel generator rated at 7.5kW mounted in the dunnage area, one electric cord reel, two hydraulic rescue tool hose reels, storage for six SCBA bottles in the rear wheel wells, and a 110VAC roof-mounted air conditioning unit.

The apparatus will be delivered in the Fall 2009 by EVS Firefighting Technologies of Coconut Creek, Florida.

Rosenbauer America also recently signed a $4.08 million contract with the Baltimore County (MD) Fire Department in Maryland for nine pumpers to be built on a Rosenbauer custom chassis with a 134″ cab and a 10-inch raised roof.

This order will be fulfilled out of Rosenbauer’s Central Division facility in Lyons, South Dakota.

Eight of the pumpers will be supplied with a 750-gallon tank; one pumper will be furnished with a 1,000-gallon water tank. Each unit will be equipped with a single-stage pump rated at 1,500 GPM, a 3/16-inch aluminum body with a high-side/low-side body configuration with roll-up doors and a ladder rack over the low-side compartments. The front bumper will be of a severe-duty design with a center hose well with an above-bumper swivel discharge.

Delivery of these units will be in late Fall 2009. The sale is being handled by DPC Emergency Equipment of Marydel, Maryland.
