Firefighters removed a victim from a Collyers Mansion fire Monday in Meriden, Connecticut.
Crews had to deal with hoarding conditions, and cold weather also complicated operations, according to NBC Connecticut.
Meriden Fire Chief Ken Morgan told reporters that crews were called to the home on Belvedere Drive just before 5 p.m. Arriving crews found heavy smoke pouring out of the door and heavy fire in the back of the building, the report said.

Firefighters removed one person from the fire building. The person was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The large quantities of content within the fire building made firefighting efforts more difficult, Morgan said. The fire apparently started in the basement, where the content was stored. There were no reported injuries to firefighters.
